Is it really free?
Yes, for families — always. Every parent, every kid, every guardian on a team uses Hey for free, with no ads and no upsells. Programs that run many teams pay for the shared infrastructure. That's the only side of the app that ever sees a bill.
How is Hey different from what I use now?
Most tools try to be everything — streaming, stats, payments, chat, and coordination all at once — and the coordination part suffers. Hey is deliberately smaller. It does announcements, RSVPs, volunteer slots, and a real multi-child calendar, and it does them well. If you need a media platform, use one of those. If you need the message to actually land, use Hey.
How do you handle kids' privacy and data?
Carefully. Kids' data is minimized, family accounts are the unit of access, and we don't sell or share data with third parties. A full privacy policy will be published before launch, reviewed by counsel for the parts that touch children's data.
What about safety and messaging?
Hey is designed with safety and transparency in mind. There are is no way to communicate 1:1 (whether it's adults or kids). Records of everything are kept, and comments are able to be monitored and hidden.
Does it work for groups that aren't sports?
Hey is bult for more than sports. If it's a group of kids on a schedule with adults responsible for them — theater rehearsals, dance studios, band, church groups, camps ... Hey works. Coaches / organizers post, families see everything in one place.
What does it cost a program?
We are still working on the program features and pricing model, but will release details before it launches.
Still curious?
The best way to see if Hey fits is to try it when it opens. Get on the list.
